Hill Country Bigfoot Sighting
The following encounter is true.
It took place two weeks ago.
The name has been changed and the locale kept vague to protect the individual involved.
“Joe Smith” drove 20 miles past Fredericksburg and to the ranch that he and his parents lived on. The sun had set an hour earlier, and the sky above was ink black with only a smattering of stars. He pulled through the gate to his property and drove the long road before him. He passed his parent’s house and saw that their lights were on and that both were home. He passed this and continued toward his trailer which sat much further on the property. He reached the end of the road and parked then noticed something odd.
At the edge of the woods, just behind a large tree, he saw a humongous black form. He studied the coarse black hair upon the figure and, despite only being able to see a portion of it, immediately took it to be a wild hog. A very large wild hog. He sat for a moment letting the headlights from his truck illuminate what he took to be the hog’s back when the form suddenly moved.
It stood erect. On two legs. It was huge. Its pinkish-red eyes glowed in the light. They stared into the truck cab and through Joe. The figure bowed its chest forward as if in challenge then turned and disappeared into the woods. Joe’s soul dropped out of his body. He was scared beyond belief. He slammed his truck in reverse and tore back up the road and to his parents’ house. He exited the truck and ran inside. He was met at the door by his father. Joe’s father said he had never seen his 6-foot 1-inch tall, large man of a son so scared. He said Joe was ashen white, his body trembling, and that he was obviously frightened beyond words. With some help from his parents, Joe calmed down enough to tell what had sent him running in fear. He said he saw a humanoid creature, covered from head to toe in coarse black hair. The man-shaped beast was far taller than him and far broader. It had long arms and glowing eyes. Joe’s parents asked him what he thought the creature was. Joe said he didn’t know and didn’t want to think about it.
Joe’s parents believed their son. They don’t know what he saw but know that what he did see had scared the hell out of him. They also knew that their son had lived in the country all his life, enjoyed the outdoors, and knew all of the local flora and fauna – and what he saw wasn’t from the latter’s realm.
I have no idea what Joe saw but I believe that he actually saw what he says he did. Based on his knowledge of the outdoors and his surroundings, I don’t think he’s mistaken in his description. Nor do I believe Joe was the victim of a prank. I believe Joe saw what some people call Bigfoot or North American Wood Ape. Although sightings of this creature in the Hill Country are rare (Most people, like Joe, don’t want to report when they’ve seen such for fear of being labeled crazy), they do exist and have so for hundreds of years. Again, I believe Joe and I believe that’s what he saw.
What do you think Joe saw? Have you seen anything similar? Drop me an email at the below address. I’d love to hear from you. Others would too!
